This Privacy Notice explains how MB Shipbrokers, Company reg. no. in Denmark: 24247791, Midtermolen 1, DK-2100 Copehagen Denmark ("MB Shipbrokers") as data controller processes personal data about users of the website, our platforms and other forms of contact in general. This Privacy Notice has been prepared to inform you as required under the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

2. Personal data

MB Shipbrokers processes the following personal data about the users of our website, platforms and other forms of contact: Name, work email address, work telephone number, subscriptions to email newsletters, inquiries and correspondence with MB Shipbrokers, e.g. questions concerning our business and our website.

 

3. Sources

The personal data are primarily obtained from the website visitor, secondarily from the employer as part of the grant of user rights to one or more of our online platforms, system monitoring, the device used by you and our on-premise surveillance cameras.

 

4. Purposes

MB Shipbrokers processes personal data for purposes relating to entering into, complying with and enforcing the agreement concluded with its customer, including e.g. verifying that user licenses are sufficiently agreed and paid for, e.g. our legitimate interests in providing customer services, sending out newsletters for which the recipient has subscribed and establishing, exercising and defending legal claims under Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.

 

5. Newsletters

By subscribing to our newsletter, you are agreeing to receive emails that may contain web beacons.

A web beacon is a small transparent image that is embedded in emails and web pages for the purpose of tracking your behaviour. In the context of our newsletter, a web beacon may be used to track whether you have opened the email, when it was opened and to collect information about your device and location. We also use the information from the web beacon to improve the content of our newsletter and to personalize the information you receive from us.

We use a third-party provider, Flexmail https://flexmail.be/en/, to deliver our newsletters.

 

6. Categories of recipients

We may share personal data with our financial or legal advisors in Denmark or abroad or with courts or law enforcement agencies, if relevant.

 

7. Storage periods

In general, personal data are stored for as long as necessary for the purposes of the processing, depending on the term of the customer agreement and any situations in which MB Shipbrokers must exercise our rights.

We keep the personal data when required under applicable legislation, including without limitation the Danish Bookkeeping Act on storage of accounting records for the present accounting year plus five years.

We keep video footage for no more than 30 days in accordance with the Danish TV Surveillance Act, or longer if specific situations render continued storage necessary.

 

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable legislation, you enjoy the following rights:

Right of access: You are entitled to have access to the personal data processed and certain additional information. However, the right of access may not infringe other persons’ rights and rights of freedom.

Right of rectification: You are entitled to have incorrect personal data rectified.

Right to erasure: In special situations, you are entitled to have personal data erased before our general erasure takes place.

Right to restriction of processing: In certain situations, you are entitled to have the processing of your personal data restricted. If you are entitled to such restricted processing, we may only process your personal data - except for storage - with your consent, for the purpose of establishing, exercising or defending a legal claim or to protect a person or important public interests.

Right to data portability: You are entitled to data portability to the extent that our processing of your personal data is based on your consent or an agreement with you personally, and the processing takes place automatically. This right implies that you are entitled to have your personal data forwarded in a structured, generally applied and machine-readable format, which you are entitled to transfer to another service provider.

Right to object: In certain situations, you are entitled to object to our legal processing of your personal data.

Right of withdrawal of consent: To the extent that our processing is based on your consent, you are entitled to withdraw your consent wholly or partly. The withdrawal of your consent will not affect the lawfulness of the processing made by us until your consent is withdrawn. Withdrawal of your consent will thus only be valid from that point in time.
